Pool Pump Repair

Pool circulation system is responsible for the flow of water and is the key to maintain healthy pool. How will you know whether you need pool pump repair or new pump replacement? These are the 5 common pool pump issues that FPNP can keep an eye on your pool during pool maintenance service.

5 Signs Pool Pump Issues

  • Pumps typically have a shelf life of 3-5 years, but it could be longer with higher pump specifications.
  • Problems with noisy pumps when it sounds abnormal when running, though it should not be completely silent. Usually this would happen due to bad motor bearings.
  • Power tripped caused by pool pump, a frequent power surges signal bigger issues.
  • Overheated pump that keeps shutting off on its own after short periods. Some of the pump parts might not be working well or could be overworked.
  • Pump is losing suction and your pool pump leaking. There are other issues such as clogged pump or the suction motor is wearing out.

Pool Pump Repair / New Pump Replacement

Usually, pump will slowly decrease in efficiency and drop its performance after years of serving its duty, and this is part of wear and tear issues.

Well, nobody can stand a noisy pump, especially when the noises are loud. The loud pool pump and motor noises could mean bad pool motor bearings, typically due to rust. Rust could form inside the machine when undesirable water gets in from a defective shaft seal. Thus, we would suggest a pump repair.

Pump Tripped / Overheated pump

Have you ever encountered pool pump tripping the power circuit breakers frequently? It is actually an indication of pump electrical component issue. This also implies that pump engine is barely working as much. At this point, we would suggest to replace new pump before the faulty component trigger other electrical issues.

Pool pump motor keeps shutting off when a pump becomes overheated or clogged. Usually this could be due to broken skimmer basket in pool pump. The basket is the last line of defense keeping debris from clogging up the pump and impeller. It should be replaced immediately whenever cracks or breaks occur. In this case, a clogged impeller can lead to severely limited flow through the system and could burn out the motor. If the rest of the pump assembly is in good condition, we only need to replace the motor or impeller. Otherwise, the entire pump must be replaced.

Pump Leaking Issues

Pool pump is essential to draw water in and run it through filtration before circulating and pumping it back into the pool. As such, water leaking from your pool pump is a definite sign that you need to get FPNP pool pump service experts in to fix this problem. Leaking water could have a number of causes, such as a damaged mechanical seal or faulty 0-ring. If water is spraying out, it could be a sign that your pool pump seal is broken.
